Caitlin Childers Brown
Pastor and Minister of Service & Community
Caitlin Childers Brown serves as Pastor and Minister of Service & Community at Highland Hills Baptist Church alongside her husband, Ethan. They have one delightful toddler and a miniature schnauzer who keep them on their toes. Caitlin served most recently as Associate Pastor at Freemason Street Baptist Church in Norfolk, VA, and also as Baptist Campus Minister at Old Dominion University. Caitlin loves working with young adults and young in spirit as we dream of ways to be the body of Christ. Caitlin holds her Masters in Divinity from George W. Truett Seminary at Baylor University and her Bachelor of Arts from Mercer University. Caitlin enjoys exercising and painting as much as her toddler will allow.
Ethan Brown
Pastor and Minister of Care & Discipleship
Ethan Brown serves as Pastor and Minister of Care and Discipleship at Highland Hills Baptist Church. Ethan has co-pastored with his wife Caitlin since July of 2023. He has his Masters of Divinity from George W. Truett Theological Seminary at Baylor University and Bachelor of Arts from Mercer University. Most recently, Ethan served as the Associate Pastor of Young Adults and Digital Ministry at First Baptist in Newport News, VA. Ethan and Caitlin have a son named Basil and a Miniature Schnauzer named Ellie, both of whom provide ample chaos. Ethan is always searching for people to play board games with and enjoys hiking and reading sci-fi and fantasy books.
Gerald Carper
Organist
Gerald N. Carper came to Highland Hills as organist in August of 1987. Gerald received his Bachelor of Music degree from Georgia Southern University and his Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Georgia. Gerald teaches piano and organ in the Macon community and serves as the Treasurer of the Macon Chapter of the American Guild of Organists.
Dr. Richard Kosowski
Interim Minister of Music
Rich Kosowski is a child of the Midwest, born in Chicago and growing up around Green Bay, Wisconsin. He has earned a Bachelor of Music Education from Truman State University, a Master of Music in Performance from University of Miami, and a Doctor of Musical Arts in Performance and Vocal Pedagogy and Voice Science from the University of Houston. Rich has held different cantor, chorister, and conductor positions in churches and synagogues throughout his adult life. He has maintained a rich and fulfilling performance career, which includes professional opera, oratorio, and choral work. Rich currently serves as the Director of Graduate Studies and chair of the Vocal Studies Area at Mercer University’s Townsend School of Music. At TSM he serves as the music director of Mercer University Opera. Rich has also served as the music director of Mercer University Youth Choirs. Rich and his wife, Mary Beth, have been married for more than 30 years. They have two children, Alex and Katie.
Carol Brown
Director of Administration
Carol Brown has been a member of Highland Hills since 1991, and became the Director of Administration in 2022. Carol previously served as HHBC’s Director of Preschool Ministries for many years. Carol provides coordination between church leaders and personnel, assists committees as they lead the ministries of the church, and produces the weekly newsletter. Carol and her husband, Steve, have two grown sons who live in New York and Vermont. She enjoys biking, hiking, and finding cheap airfares to travel to new places.
Cameron Schroeder
Church Secretary
Cameron Schroeder joined the HHBC team in 2021. She graduated from Mercer with her Bachelor of Arts in May 2020, and is currently pursuing her Master of Divinity from McAfee School of Theology. Cameron has been working in churches in various capacities since 2017. Cameron enjoys playing games, painting, reading, listening to Taylor Swift, traveling with her husband, Steven, and playing with her cat, Wobbles.
Danise Bennett
Financial Secretary
Danise Bennett joined team HHBC in May 2019. She received her MBA in Business Administration from Wesleyan College in 2016. Danise's background is in bookkeeping/accounting, human resources, and payroll. She is a busy mom of three teens—her house is always full! She enjoys cooking for everyone. When Danise has free time (almost never), she enjoys traveling.
Christy Price
Childcare Coordinator
Christy Price has served as Childcare Coordinator since 2019. From Sunday mornings to Wednesday evenings, along with special celebrations and gatherings, Christy provides excellent childcare for the children of HHBC. Christy also assists with activities and nurtures and guides the children in the knowledge of God's love. In addition to working at Highland Hills, Christy works in daycare with children ranging from infants to high schoolers and provides housekeeping services for a family in Macon. A graduate of Mount de Sales Academy, Christy attended Brewton-Parker College in Mount Vernon, GA, where she majored in music. Christy is grateful every Sunday to the “HHBC village” (Sunday Shepherds and Sunday School teachers) who help guide and care for the children of Highland Hills.
Charles Barton
Maintenance Supervisor
Charlie Barton has been with HHBC since January 2007. Charlie was employed with Brown & Williamson Tobacco for 30 years prior. Charlie has been married to his wife, Gail, for 45 years. They have two children and three grandbabies. Charlie and Gail enjoy taking trips to the Gulf of Mexico and the North Georgia mountains, and spending as much time with their family as they can.
Brenda Anthony
Custodian
Brenda Anthony was hired as custodian at Highland Hills in 1997. Brenda graduated from Northeast High School in 1978. She’s worked various jobs throughout her life, but she’s very happy to serve in God’s house. Brenda married her husband, Roy Ambrose, in December 1997. They enjoy traveling, watching movies, and going out when possible. Brenda enjoys the company of her two children, nine grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
Lakecia Meadows
Custodian
Lakecia Meadows began her work as custodian in July 2023. She was born and raised in Macon with three brothers and two sisters. Lakecia received her Home Building Certificate at Atlanta Job Corp in 2004 and her GED in 2017. This is Lakecia’s first time working for a church and she loves the people of HHBC. She loves God, music, reading, and being outside. Lakecia enjoys traveling with her family members, who are very important to her. She enjoys cooking for people and making people happy.
